Trauma Healing & Prevention Services is the umbrella organization for our doula services, Peer2Peer Support (including non-denominational clergy and spiritual supporters), and Friendly Dog Training. Both One on One peer support and Doula Services are scheduled online on the homepage (just click the “Get Started” button). By working together and supporting one another, we really are healing individuals and communities one birth, one relationship, one heel at a time!
All Friendly Dog Training classes*, Tune-Up Classes**, Workshops, and Available to the Public events are listed on the Calendar. Please check back regularly, as events, classes and workshops are being added all the time!
* Before participating in any Friendly Dog Training Classes at any level, we require everyone in the family to attend an orientation first. Orientations are offered at least once each quarter and cover safety, canid and human communication similarities/issues, nutrition, and responsibility as well as equipment requirements.
It is imperative to attend an Orientation before attending classes, for everyone’s safety. Since dogs do not come to the Orientation, families and individuals who are still researching what kind of dog is the best match/how much time needs to be invested in training a well behaved canine member of society really benefit from attending Orientation before getting a dog!
** Tune-Up Classes are available and strongly encouraged for Friendly Dog Training handlers and graduates. The class facilitator will let you know when to start attending. Tune-Ups are where dogs learn to ignore other dogs while on lead, and are required to attend for all Service Dogs in Training.
